Colchester United have completed their second loan signing on transfer deadline day after bringing in Arsenal youngster Glen Kamara.

The 20-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Finland under-21s, has joined the U's on loan until January where he will add to competition for midfield places at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Kamara initially began his career with Southend United but joined Arsenal in 2012.

The Finland-born player, who has played once for Arsenal's first team in a League Cup tie last October, returned to Southend on loan last season.

He made six appearances for the Shrimpers, including against the U's in their Essex derby at Roots Hall in February.

Kamara will be available for Colchester once he has returned from Finnish international duty.

He is the second loanee to sign for the U's on transfer deadline day, following the arrival of winger Tarique Fosu on loan from Reading.
