SPRING Lane A and Kirby A profited during an intriguing week of action in Colchester and District Tennis League men’s division one.

Both teams secured hard-fought 5-4 away wins against Lexden Hill A and Colchester Officers’ Club B respectively.

Spring Lane A are second in the table, with Kirby A lying 16 points behind them in third.

Division four also saw a 5-4 away victory, with East Bergholt triumphant in a tight encounter at Frinton C.

The Essex A maintained their unbeaten run in the ladies’ premier division with a 7-2 win at Lexden R&F A.

However in division one, Lexden R&F’s B team were on the right side of a 7-2 scoreline at home to Frinton B.

In division two, Spring Lane A earned an impressive 8-1 home win against East Bergholt.

Division four pace-setters Dedham B enjoyed an extremely fruitful week, featuring back-to-back wins against Spring Lane C.

An 8-1 home win for the table-toppers was swiftly followed by a 7-2 away victory.

Dedham’s pair of Gina Michael and Hayley Everett starred in both matches, winning all six of their sets.

Colchester Officers’ Club B’s pursuit of promotion from division five was boosted by a 6-3 victory at home to Frinton D.

Frinton A continued their impressive start to the mixed premier division with an emphatic 9-0 home win against Kirby A.

Division one saw a narrow 5-4 victory for Lexden R&F A at Frinton B and a comfortable 7-2 home win for Lexden Hill A against Colchester Officers’ Club A.

In division two, Dedham B ran out 6-3 winners at Kirby B.

Spring Lane B went through mixed emotions in division three; after a heavy 9-0 loss at Lexden Hill B, they responded well with a close-fought 5-4 home victory against West Mersea A.

Little Clacton sealed a 7-2 win at home to Frinton C in division four and The Essex D earned a comprehensive 8-1 victory at West Mersea B in division five.
