I HAD a nice break away in Portugal with my fiancé last week. It was relaxing and much needed after the hard training camp I’ve had this year.

It was nice to kick back and chill, however, that’s all over now as I’m already back in training for my fifth professional contest on Friday, June 4, at York Hall.

To update any that missed it, I had to settle for a draw in my comeback fight on Saturday, April 16, against an experienced, tough fighter in ‘Mad’ Mitch Mitchell at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.

I felt as if I didn’t really get that ‘York Hall experience’ because I ended up being the last fight on at almost midnight!

The crowds had all gone and it was just my loyal support remaining behind. The staff were even packing away while I was in the ring!

I felt positive about the performance after a 10-month hiatus, so it’s all focus on the next one now which is just five weeks away.

The training camps are always gruelling and feels like a lifetime but it’s also not very long before the date rolls around and you think, “Wow! Where did the time go?”

I’ve already talked to my manager, Carl Greaves, about doing a six-rounder as it takes me two rounds just to get going.

I was a little hesitant in the initial stages of my last fight, meaning I gave the first round away clearly. With the longer distance, it will enable me to come on strong as the fight progresses.

I’m really looking forward to this one. I feel like I’ve got back in the mix, shaken off the ring rust and now I’ll really put on a show for all my friends, family and fans in front of a lively crowd!

The tickets are here already so if anyone wants to join Team Church and come and support, then it’s just £35 for a standard ticket and £60 for ringside.

My support means the world to me and really pushes me on when I’m in there. I always spend as much time as possible after the fight to thank each and every one that spent their hard-earned cash to come and watch me. I can’t thank you all enough.

I’ll show you all my appreciation by getting another win on the record on June 4!
