HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS striker Jack Barham has been offered a trial at Colchester United.

He is spending this week with Kevin Keen's side, who were relegated to League Two on Saturday.

Teenager Barham has been a huge success since joining Swifts on a season-long loan from Chelmsford City, netting 13 goals in 38 appearances.

He started as a right-back but has been converted to a front man by manager Jody Brown.

"Jack has worked very hard at his game in the last four or five months," said Brown.

"This is a great opportunity for a top kid."

Barham's goals helped Swifts avoid relegation and retain their Ryman League status, courtesy of a final-day victory at home to Phoenix Sports.

He finished as top-scorer, won five man-of-the-match awards and his most recent goal for the club came in Monday night's Tolleshunt D'Arcy Cup final victory against Hullbridge Sports.
