MALDON and Tiptree secured a solid victory against Soham Town Rangers.

The Jammers grabbed a 3-0 Ryman League division north win at Park Drive.

Charley Edge gave Maldon the lead on 16 minutes.

His effort from 25 yards took a deflection and looped over George Lawton in the Soham goal.

Edge made it 2-0 after the break when he scored on 61 minutes.

He challenged the keeper, won the ball and placed it in the empty net.

Darren McQueen wrapped the match up for the Jammers with a third goal for the home side on 77 minutes.

Rhys Henry played McQueen in and his shot went under the keeper and in to make it 3-0.

Brightlingsea Regent were denied three points when visiting AFC Hornchurch hit a late equaliser.

Luke Read had the first chance of the match for Regent, on eight minutes, with a half-volley but Hornchurch keeper Jack Mott made a good save.

But, Regent did take the lead on 15 minutes when Phil Kelly lobbed the keeper.

Shamido Pedulu almost increased Regent’s lead after the break.

He rounded the keeper but his effort, on 51 minutes, was fired into the side netting.

Josh Gould then had another chance for the home side but his shot went wide.

Regent keeper Ollie Bowles then made a great save from a Hornchurch free-kick to preserve their lead.

However, on 90 minutes, Charlie Dove hit an equaliser for Hornchurch to snatch a point from the game.

Witham Town surrendered a three-goal lead to be held to a draw against visiting Romford.

Witham took the lead through Michael Osei on 12 minutes.

The home side doubled their advantage when Nathan Koranteng made it 2-0 on 41 minutes.

It got better for Witham when Lee Townrow made it 3-0 three minutes later.

After the break, George Tubey pulled a goal back for the visitors on 69 minutes.

And Romford gave themselves a chance when Lee Weemes made it 3-2 on 80 minutes.

The visitors stormed back to snatch a share of the spoils with a goal from Jake Giddings on 90 minutes.

Heybridge Swifts fell to a 1-0 defeat at Haringey Borough.

Jerome Martelli hit the all-important goal on 59 minutes.
