FC CLACTON were unable to repeat their midweek heroics when they travelled to reigning Thurlow Nunn League champions and current unbeaten leaders Norwich United.

The Seasiders had gone into the game in high spirits, having won four in a row and after turning in their best performance of the season to eliminate Felixstowe & Walton 4-0 from the League Cup on Tuesday night.

However, Norwich proved a different proposition and beat David Coyle’s side 4-0.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC, buoyed by their midweek penalty shoot-out success against Stanway Rovers, won 3-0 at home to Newmarket Town.

All the goals came in the second half and Sean Gunn, Ollie Mann and Sean Bartlett were the players on target for Paul Skingley’s side.

In division one, WIVENHOE TOWN are still top and still unbeaten after a fantastic 5-0 victory at Dereham Town.

They were four-up by half-time.

Adam Hampson netted twice and he was joined on the score-sheet by Jake Plane, Hasan Ayten and Evan Culmer.

HALSTEAD TOWN continued their own push near the top of the table by winning 1-0 at home to March Town United.

Man-of-the-match Cameron Storie scored the game’s only goal.

BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES won 2-0 at home to King’s Lynn Reserves.
