SASKIA Clark has held onto third place after the second day’s racing at the 470 World Championships in Israel.

Clark, from Mersea Island, along with helm Hannah Mills started the day in third and eighth and third place finishes on Tuesday saw them maintain their postion in the table with 13 points.

The Polish pair of Agnieszka Skrzypulec and Irmina Mrozek Gliszczynska held on to top spot in the table but it wasn’t such a good day for them on the water.

After two first places on day one, Tuesday saw them record a sixth and a 36th at the end of racing for the chasing pack to close the gap.

Second and first place finishes saw Austria’s Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar leap into second place, four points ahead of Clark and Mills.

World number one pairing and London 2012 gold medallists Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, from New Zealand, moved up from seventh to fourth after finishing in tenth and fifth.

Another round of racing begins on Wednesday.
