COACH Shane Manning hailed the “effort, intensity and execution” of his players after their 82-7 romp at Aldeburgh and Thorpeness.

The Low Road side were boosted by the return of ten regular first-team players and were always in control of the Eastern Counties League division two match, on Saturday.

“I was definitely satisfied with the effort, intensity and execution the boys displayed,” said Manning.

“We played good rugby for about 75 minutes, so it was a marked improvement on last week and the score reflected that.

“Everyone played their part and did their core roles really well. Elliot Hawken probably had his best game in the first team and Jack Cairns, Simon Palmer and Simon Pithan had really good games, as well.”

Harwich have a home date with Sudbury tomorrow.

“It’s another big game,” added Manning.

“Sudbury pose a different problem compared to other teams as they are all young and extremely fit, so we can’t wait for them to tire.

“We’ll have to stick to our structures and have faith with what we’re doing, in addition to lots of controlled aggression if we want to keep winning.”
