TIPTREE Jobserve bowlers completed the 2015 outdoor bowls season by playing for the Armistice Cup.

It was only the second time that the Armistice Cup competition had been held.

Chairman of Tiptree Youth Football Club, Jonathan Dalton kindly donated the Cup to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, in recognition of the important role that Warrior’s Rest had played following the repatriation of Word War One armed forces.

The weather was perfect for the end of season match, and the green was in superb condition, as it has remained throughout the season, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the maintenance team, headed by Barry Wade.

In 2014 the Cup was won by Paula Montgomery, and this year, so as not to be outdone, the winner was husband Seamus.

Steph Heard was second and Joe Coppin in third.
