BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT notched their second Ryman League north division victory of the season tonight following a 1-0 success at home to Dereham Town.

Jake Turner’s long-range goal put them in the driving seat just before half-time.

And with no more goals in the second period, Regent pocketed three precious points to put them in good heart for Saturday’s FA Cup trip to WITHAM TOWN.

It was Turner’s third goal of the season, having also scored in the opening matches against Waltham Abbey and Bury Town.

Elsewhere, MALDON & TIPTREE scored two late goals to draw 3-3 at home to Cheshunt .

Matt Lock netted from the penalty spot before Femi Akinwande struck late on to make it 3-2.

Lock then came up trumps with a dramatic equaliser, again from the penalty spot, three minutes from time.

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS squandered the lead before losing 3-2 at Great Wakering Rovers.

Shamido Pedula gave them a dream start with a goal in the first minute.

Wakering soon levelled but Billy Hunt netted on the stroke of half-time to restore Swifts’ lead.

However, the hosts equalised on the hour-mark and then grabbed their winner ten minutes later.

WITHAM TOWN crashed 3-1 at home to Thamesmead Town.

The damage was done before Danny Emmanuel’s consolation in the 63rd minute.

In the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, FC CLACTON continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 victory at home to Long Melford.

Aaron Condon’s cool penalty late in the first half put them in front.

Ben Parkin then headed home Kevin Coyle’s corner in the 52nd minute.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC lost 3-2 at Felixstowe & Walton.

In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN won 3-1 at BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES, thanks to goals from Jordan Hutchings (two) and James Murray.
