JESSE Trayler on the MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX-10R competed in round seven of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Thruxton.

Trayler, from Great Dunmow, was hoping to continue his success of the last few rounds around the fastest circuit on the championship calendar.

Qualifying saw Trayler have a bad time not being able to get the bike where he wanted it on the 2.4-mile Hampshire track.

And he ended up with a time of one minute 18.1 seconds that put him down the field in 16th place, leaving him a lot to do during the race.

As the lights went green Trayler had a good start, with the aim of finishing ahead of Luke Quigley to jump above him in the championmship standings.

His other goal was getting past Dominic Usher without incident after their coming together at Donington Park earlier in the season.

By the end of lap one he had moved into tenth place one ahead of Usher and three behind Quigley and was going well.

Mid-way through the race he remained pretty static exchanging places with Usher but by lap 14 he was up into ninth with Usher just behind and Quigley three behind.

The final lap saw Trayler move into eighth place where he remained until the chequered flag.

He met his aims of the weekend finishing ahead of Usher, who finished in 11th, while Quigley was down in 13th.

Trayler has now jumped ahead of Quigley in the championship standings and is now in fourth place on 75 points.

He will be in action again on August 22-23 at Cadwell Park.
