They shone throughout in the Harwich and District Primary Schools Sports Association event, hosted by Little Oakley Football Club.

The winning team (pictured) was captained by Emily Powell, their main goal-scorer, and she lined up alongside sister Hannah, Alexia Jose, Morgan May and goalkeeper Ella Topple.

Two Village were accompanied by PE co-ordinator Harvey Tomlin and girls’ football coach Keeley Routley. All were very pleased to win the event for their school.

The event showed the high quality of girls’ football in local primary schools and their enthusiasm for the game.

The tournament was organised by Paul Bertram, of Chase Lane Primary School.

It was played in a league format, with all seven teams playing a game against each other during the morning.

Four other schools took part – Chase Lane, Harwich Community Primary, Wix and Wrabness Primary and Spring Meadow Primary.
