FINGRINGHOE’S Phil Seton hailed a “perfect” display from his Seton Tuning Yamaha team at the No Limits 3 Hour Endurance race, at Brands Hatch.

Team owner Seton and team sponsor Mark Clark of Linxcel triumphed in the overall event and won the NLR Kidney Bean 1000 Challenge class accolade.

Seton also posted the fastest-ever endurance lap, after recording a rapid 48.643 seconds.

Seton said: “What a sterling effort from the whole team.

“I have to say we performed absolutely perfectly, the bikes were faultless and our race strategy worked.

“Mark’s consistently good laps made for a great ride and I’m delighted with our results – I can’t thank the team enough.

“Switching to the control Pirelli tyres proved difficult with our usual bike set-up.

“But the team worked through it and we exceeded our expectations after our qualifying session, by winning everything we could this weekend. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

The Seton Tuning Yamaha duo had qualified second in tricky conditions and despite a busy track, both riders posted consistent lap times.

Seton dropped straight into low 49-second laps and started to post fastest laps, with a 49.009s on lap 80.

Sticking to their race strategy and efficient pit stops, the pair stayed at the front for the majority of the race.

And after two hours, they had a commanding 35-second lead over the field.

With weather and track conditions improving, Seton smashed his own fastest lap with a new lap record of 48.643s on lap 165.

He pulled out an unassailable lead and finished more than a lap ahead of any other team, with 183 laps completed over the three-hour duration.

Clark added: “(It was) another great team effort that ensured the bikes ran flawlessly through the entire race and we missed no opportunity to capitalise with the right strategy at every opportunity.”

The next round is at Silverstone on July 11 and 12 and will begin a four-round point scoring championship.
