Alex Lynn's debut appearance on the streets of Monaco failed to go to plan as the racing driver from Dunmow came away with no points in the latest round of the GP2 Series.

The iconic Principality circuit offers arguably the most glamorous round of the GP2 season and Lynn arrived in buoyant mood.

The 21-year-old had secured his debut GP2 victory in the sprint race at the previous round in Barcelona and then impressed while undertaking Formula One testing for the Williams Martini Racing team, who he is also development driver for.

However, things didn't go to plan on his return to action for the DAMS Racing team in GP2 in Monaco.

DAMS cars had taken victories in both the feature and sprint races during the 2014 GP2 season, but there were no points for them this time in the Principality.

Neither Lynn nor his DAMS team-mate Pierre Gasly were able to find the pace they needed to get into the points in either the feature or the sprint races, with the Essex man finishing 13th and 11th.

It was the second of the three rounds so far this year that Lynn has failed to score a point at, however, his results in the two races in Spain mean he is still well up in the overall standings ahead of the fourth round in Austria next month.
