COASTAL Storms Netball Academy continues to go from strength-to-strength.

Throughout the season, all their players have made great progress.

In addition to running a ladies’ team, the club also caters for under-11s and under-16s.

Coach Faye Trigg said: “Considering this area had no netball, we’ve come so far since October.

“We’ve put in so much effort, working with schools, running holiday camps and tournaments, starting up a junior club and now giving ladies the chance to get back into netball.

“It’s great to see a lot of interest.”

The club’s under-16s and ladies both had friendlies against Colchester Institute recently.

The under-16s won one match and lost the other, while the ladies were pipped twice.

Meanwhile, Coastal Storms held a holiday camp for juniors over Easter.

The girls learnt new skills during a packed day of netball.

All three sections of the club have tournaments coming up in June.

The under-11s and under-16s both have the Colchester Rally and the ladies are playing in the Back to Netball festival, run by England Netball.

“It’s all experience and will be good for our players to play other teams, to see what netball is like outside of Tendring,” added Trigg.

“Some matches may be tough but we will only learn and get better.”
