WINNING START: Clacton’s ladies’ bronze team, with their caddies, in their new 2015 strip.
CLACTON Golf Club made a winning start in the Essex Ladies’ Golf Union Bronze Trophy.
Brenda Lord, Di Kedge, Judy Speck, Chris Crossfield, Kath Sinnott, Gilly Cullen and Jackie Bright, assisted by caddies Fiona Cope, Steph Smith, Sue Gurry, Denise Pink and Pat Gilberd, were victorious at Channels Golf Club.
The ladies rose to the challenge and, with the first-round contest in the balance at three matches each, tension was high approaching the 18th green.
Sinnott then sunk a testing putt to give her team a good win in this five-match league competition.
Their next contest is at home to The Warren Golf Club, on May 7.
