IN spring-like weather, 29 Five Lakes seniors contested the popular George Jarvis Trophy played on the Lakes course.
The trophy, presented in honour of a past member of the section, is played as an individual stableford qualifier.
In the prevailing quiet conditions some good scoring was expected but only two players returned more than 36 points.
Bryan Thompson and Tony Tyler each scored 35 points but the honours went to runner-up Peter Gee with 37 points and to the winner Ron Colbert with 39 points.
Nearest the pin winners were David Swain, at the fourth hole, and Barry Painter, at the 16th.
