FC CLACTON’S Wayne Chapman made an explosive return to action – and is convinced his team can avoid relegation.
The midfielder is just back from a family wedding in Australia.
He was thrown straight back into the Seasiders’ starting line-up for Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Gorleston.
And he wasted no time in signalling his return – scoring a stunning volleyed equaliser as Clacton posted their first Thurlow Nunn League point of 2015.
“I’m happy to be back playing and can’t believe I scored,” said Chapman.
“It was a blinding goal – as soon as it left my foot I knew it was going in."
