Witham Town midfielder Ryan Blackman feels they will head to Hendon today full of confidence despite the disappointment of seeing two points slip away from them against Tonbridge Angels in their previous outing.

The Ryman League premier division game against the Kent side was one that Witham felt they should have won after twice having the lead, but a combination of poor defending and not taking goal chances at the other end meant they had to settle for a point.

Blackman, who scored a wonder goal for Witham’s second, said: “It does knock you, especially when you’re down there fighting against relegation and trying to get out of trouble.

“We’re out of it at the moment but when you’re trying to stay above it you need every point you can get and that was two points that we dropped.

“We go again on Saturday and hopefully we can come back with another win.

“We’re four unbeaten now which is a good run and we’ll be looking for the three points on Saturday.

“That would put us even clearer of the bottom four.

“We seem to do well against sides near the top.

“We’ll certainly travel with confidence on the back of four games unbeaten.”
