LEE Wicks started as he meant to go on to win Playgolf Colchester’s all-day stableford competition.
Wicks (four) secured a birdie on the par-four first hole on his way to recording an impressive winning card of 37 points.
He also recorded a birdie on the par-four eight hole, in a round that was comprised of a solid 12 pars.
Wicks had booked a later tee time in the all-day competition and benefited from more receptive main greens.
Grant Chapman (9) was runner-up with a card of 35 points, posting nine pars.
In third place was Paul Addison (6) with a card of 33 points, following eight pars and a birdie on the par-four eighth.
Division two was a close affair, with John MacDonald (19) winning on countback.
Edward Quilty (18) was runner-up and Nathan Soton (19) was third, after all three players carded 33 points.
Miguel Ruiz (22) was the only player to earn a reduction on the day.
He beat the CSS (Competition Scratch Score) by a shot with his 38-point haul which included five pars, to win in division three.
John Frost (25) was second with 35 points a point ahead of Scott Wyatt, who was third with 34 points.
