Roger Hyman produced a huge drive to celebrate his captain’s drive-in at Five Lakes Golf Club.

He astounded the crowd by hitting his first ball 180 yards onto the fairway, after braving the gallery in wet conditions.

Matt Foot claimed both the scratch and handicap prizes with 40 points, off his five handicap.

Russell Smith (15) was runner-up with 38 points from Mark Ponder (eight) who finished a point behind.

Andy Lee (14) was fourth with 35 points.

The rain eased as former captain John Mayle took three strokes to putt out.
