Alan Devonshire says he will make changes to his line-up for their Vanarama Conference Premier trip to Woking tomorrow.

After starting with the same side for their last three games, the Iron boss said changes would be made against the Cardinals after a disappointing display against Welling on Tuesday.

Braintree lost 1-0, but Devonshire said his squad options continue to strengthen as players return from injuries and said he expects to make use of those when they go to Woking.

He said: “Kenny Davis, Dan Walker and Dan Sparkes all got minutes against Welling and we’ve got players coming back in now.

“It’s only Jordan Cox, with his bad back, who is out for us now and I will be looking to make changes to the side at Woking from the side that started against Welling.

“That’s a definite because I wasn’t happy.

“I had kept the same side from the last two games and I felt they deserved it, but that performance proves to me that playing Saturday-Tuesday games on those pitches at the moment are too much.

“Maybe that’s a lesson I can learn that I need to freshen it up from Saturdays to Tuesdays – whatever the result.

“Hopefully it’s only a minor setback, though.

“We now have Woking and then a two-week break after that.

"Woking got beaten on Tuesday so they’ll be raring to go and it will be another difficult game, but we’ll be ready for it.”
