MEMBERS of Halstead Karate club took part in their belt grading examinations at the club Dojo at Halstead Leisure Centre.
Their knowledge of Kata – preset training exercises – Kihon – basic techniques – and Kumite – fighting skills – were examined and the tests finished with free sparring when the adults demonstrated self defence techniques.
Successful gradings: To 9th Kyu Yellow Belt: Elliot Swallow, Andrew Collins, Lewis Brennan, Alexander Sage, Ethan Ancient, Louis Finch, Francesca Acres, Samuel Hawes, Elizabeth Choat; To 8th Kyu Orange Belt: Adam Law, Aimee Debenham, Max Rubini, Kieran Mays, Clifford Brooks; To 7th Kyu 1st Green Belt: Alex Smith, Daniel Mortimer, Joe Jones Root; To 6th Kyu 2nd Green Belt: Darryl Bloomfield; To 5th Kyu 1st Blue Belt: George Cook, Lisa Shinn; To 4th Kyu 2nd Blue Belt: James Northfield, Benedict Williamson, Callum Fuller, Reece Brooks; To 3rd Kyu 1st Brown Belt: Alfie Evennett, Marcel Du Toit.
