Brightlingsea Regent secured a 3-1 Ryman League division one victory at Thurrock.
Thurrock had a chance early on when Charlie Stimson had a volley well saved.
However, it was the visitors who were ahead 2-0 by half-time.
Oliver Canfer put Brightlingsea ahead heading home from a corner before Phil Kelly scored after a good run at the defence.
Just after the break, Russell Malton put Brightlingsea further ahead after he capitalised on a Thurrock defensive error.
With 20 minutes to go the home side pulled a goal back but it was too little too late and Brightlingsea claimed a deserved three points.
