Colchester United’s youngsters boosted their chances of first-team recognition following their 3-3 draw at Queens Park Rangers.
That is the view of U’s under-21 boss John McGreal, who watched his side play their part in a six-goal thriller in West London.
U’s first-team boss Tony Humes and assistant manager Richard Hall watched on, as Kevin Lokko’s late headed equaliser earned the under-21s a share of the spoils.
Macauley Bonne also scored twice in Colchester’s latest Professional Development League Two South clash, played at Rangers’ training ground in Harlington.
McGreal said: “It was a great game to be involved in."
