BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent have completed the signing of former Stanway Rovers striker Jordan Heath.

And the ex-Harwich and Parkeston front man goes straight into the squad for tonight’s Ryman League showdown at home to Cheshunt.

Heath signed yesterday, joining from Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division side Little Oakley.

Another boost is that Russell Malton and Ben Newson could also be fit to have some involvement, having recently picked up injuries in Regent’s recent Robert Dyas League Cup victory at Burnham Ramblers.

“Jordan has lots of ability and a great record,” said Brightlingsea assistant boss Tom Rothery.

“He’s a natural goal-scorer and he deserves his chance to play at a higher level.

“He’s an unpolished diamond and hopefully we can develop him and get the best out of him.”

Regent were keen to bolster their attacking options in light of a triple injury blow last week.

Malton (hip), Newson (ankle) and Phil Kelly (ribs) all suffered injuries at Burnham, while Sean Bartlett, another front man, picked up an injury in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Brentwood.

He is ruled out of tonight’s game, as is midfielder Amir Berkane.
