It's D-Day in the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.

The division one title race is going to the wire, with two sides still in with a chance of finishing top.

Tomorrow sees the final round of fixtures, with leaders Frinton – two points clear at the summit – hosting Witham and second-placed Coggeshall going to Mildenhall.

Frinton are targeting their second championship in successive seasons and whoever finishes top will go forward to a play-off, for the right to gain promotion to the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League.

“It’s going to be tight,” said Matt Foakes, who skippered the side in the absence of regular captain Mark Jones in last week’s victory at Sudbury.

“Let’s hope there’s no rain.

“We know both teams will give it their all and hopefully we can all share a beer and a laugh afterwards, like we did with Sudbury.

“We had to win last week to keep our title ambitions on track and thankfully the boys delivered the goods.”
