WIVENHOE TOWN skipper Marley Spindler says he and his team-mates always kept faith that the club’s fortunes would change.
After years of languishing near the foot of the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, the much-improved Dragons have made a bright start to the season, already posting their first victory and winning FA Cup and FA Vase fixtures.
Now they are preparing for the first of three successive league matches on the road, starting with tonight’s trip to newly-promoted Ipswich Wanderers.
And midfielder Spindler is hopeful of another positive result to add to their victory against Brantham Athletic and the opening-day at Gorleston.
“Everyone at the club has been waiting for this to happen,” he said.
“That’s why we all sign on every year."
