Colchester and East Essex returned to the top of Shepherd Neame Essex League division one with a thrilling four-wicket victory over Harlow at Castle Park.

A six in a dramatic final over from youngster Fred Clark (19 not out) proved crucial for the home side, after the game went down to the wire.

Chasing 257 to win, Colchester needed to score nine runs off the final over and then six off the final three balls.

But Clark, along with overseas player Camden Hawkins who hit an excellent unbeaten 70, steered Colchester home.

Sam Foster had earlier claimed 4-23 in his five-over spell, before opener Kemsley Robb (58) had built the foundation for Colchester’s win.
