TWO-GOAL hero Freddie Sears was sky-high after rocketing his tally into double figures and firing Colchester United to a precious victory at Stevenage.
The former West Ham man now has ten goals this season – one more than Jabo Ibehre, who also netted in the 3-2 victory.
Sears says he is relishing their battle to finish as the club’s top-scorer – but admitted it pales into insignificance compared to Colchester staying in League One.
Saturday’s win, which halted a run of four straight defeats, was a huge boost to their survival chances and left them 18th – three points above fourth-from-bottom Carlisle.
“Jabo and I are forming a real partnership, working hard and playing well off each other,” said Sears.
“I’m delighted to be in double figures now and it’s going to go to the wire, to see who finishes as leading scorer between the two of us.
“But the points are obviously far more important."
