Colchester United manager Joe Dunne admitted he could have no complaints about the scoreline after they were beaten 2-0 at play-off chasing Peterborough United.
Goals from Tommy Rowe and Britt Assombalonga condemned the U's to a third straight defeat, leaving them three points above the League One relegation zone with six games to play.
Dunne said: “It was a well-earned win for Peterborough.
“I’ve got no complaints about getting beaten, if you can get beaten in the right way.
“I just felt we once again aided our downfall although we did manage to keep at 1-0 going into half-time, which we haven’t done (in past games).
“We felt that might be the resilience that gives us the opportunity to do something in the second half.
“We spoke at half-time about what we needed to do to try and get back into the game.
“We settled into the game a little bit in the second half but the second goal has killed us."
Dunne was angry that Rowe's headed opener for Posh was allowed to stand, after the U's felt the hosts should have been penalised for a block on one of their defenders.
Dunne added: “It was a blatant block and it needs to be looked at.
“We spoke about with the fourth official.
“People have got to start taking action against people who are blocking (in the area) with no intention of even playing the ball.
“That happened three or four times and we spoke to the referee about it but he did nothing about it."
