Witham Town assistant manager Brad King is delighted that their players are still proving people wrong as they secured another valuable three points with a 3-0 win against Tilbury.

The win kept Witham hot on the heels of Ryman League division one north leaders VCD Athletic and two goals by Paul King and one from Joe Sweeney saw them record their eighth win in a row.

It means Witham are in second place, two points behind VCD with three games in hand and they are enjoying upsetting the odds still.

Brad King said: “It’s eight wins out of eight now and we’ve scored quite a few goals in those eight games.

“There’s still a long way to go but had someone said at the start of the season that we’d be here in this position, I don’t think anyone would have believed you.

“We’re still just little old Witham and I think a lot of people thought last season was a one-off.

“But myself, Garry (Kimble) and John (Ray) knew that wasn’t the case because we knew what we had in the dressing room.

“People are still waiting for Witham to blow up but hopefully we can keep proving them wrong."
