JAMIE Guy was the derby day hero for Heybridge Swifts.

The Scraley Road side secured a 2-0 Ryman League division one north victory against visiting Burnham Ramblers.

Both sides went close in the first half and Burnham were also denied a penalty just before the break.

However, a burst of speed and a shot that soared in from Guy from 20 yards on 51 minutes set Heybridge onto victory.

Burnham were given a way back three minutes later when Bradley Nobbs was brought down by Gavin Greenfield in the area.

However, Swifts keeper Harrison guessed right with his dive to deny Billy Hunt from the spot.

Substitute Ben Newson delivered the cross ten minutes from the break for an easy tap in for Guy's second as Heybridge climb to fourth in the table.

Maldon and Tiptree grabbed a superb victory against Needham Market.

The Jammers claimed a 4-2 win against visiting Needham Market at Park Drive.

The home side romped to a 3-0 first-half lead.

Jack Stevenson opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 12 minutes.

Then goals from Leon McKensie and Ollie Berquez but the home side in a commanding position.

But the visitors came back into the match after the break.

Luke Ingram and David Cowley pulled two goals back to make it a nervous finish for the home side.

But their worries were eased when Stevenson fired into the top corner late on to seal the win and the three points.
