Freddie Sears rates his superb equaliser against Bristol City as one of his best-ever goals for Colchester United.

And the U’s striker reckons it could well be one of his most important, too.

Sears came off the bench to help Colchester launch an impressive fight back, after they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with the Robins.

The point leaves Joe Dunne’s side five points above the League One relegation zone, with nine games to go.

Sears said: “It was one of my best strikes since I’ve been here.

“And it was a big goal, in terms of importance.

“It was a big point for us, because we could have come away with nothing."
