Joe Dunne says he is looking to find reinforcements for one specific area of his Colchester United squad.
The U's boss is reluctant to reveal the exact position he feels is in need of strengthening.
But he says he has a specific player in mind to bolster his squad in the emergency loan window, ahead of the U's hectic programme of matches in League One.
Dunne said: “It’s a financial thing at the moment.
“If I can get one I’ll get one but I’m looking for one in particular.
“There’s one position I want to fill where I don’t think we’ve got another back-up and it’s not left-back.
“Once we get into the Saturday-Tuesday business, I’m going to need that kind of player.
“There’s a particular player that I have in mind - but so have a few other clubs!
“But I’m pleased with the group and I think it can take us through a lot of exciting football between now and the end of the season.
“I don’t really think we can do too much different with this team, in terms of tactics."
