TODAY'S Thurlow Nunn League premier division derby between Wivenhoe Town and FC Clacton has been postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium.
The game was always in huge doubt, owing to the heavy rainfall that has fallen this week.
The club's groundstaff have been working tirelessly to try and get the pitch playable, including using a pump to remove water from the surface.
However, with yet more rain overnight and this morning, they were forced to concede defeat and the game will have to be rearranged for a later date.
Elsewhere, the Ryman One North contest between Maldon and Tiptree and VCD Athletic is also off.
Other fixtures are very likely to fall by the wayside as the morning progresses.
