Joe Dunne has backed the use of artificial pitches in English football, after another weekend washout.
And the Colchester United manager has revealed he has spoken to chairman Robbie Cowling about the possibility of installing a synthetic surface at the club’s Florence Park training ground.
The U’s were left kicking their heels again at the weekend after their scheduled game at Peterborough United was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, at London Road.
It is the second successive U’s match that has fallen foul of the wet weather, after their home game against Shrewsbury Town was called off last Tuesday.
