FC CLACTON have parted company with first-team manager Phil Yearling.

The Seasiders boss was dismissed this morning following a phone call from club co-owner Stephen Andrews.

Yearling, formerly joint-assistant to Ray Turner, had only been appointed on January 2.

However, in a statement, Andrews and fellow co-owner Dave Ballard said: "This was not an easy decision for us as Phil is a good man, who we have a lot of time for, but we feel that he did not fully understand nor buy into the unique ethos that we are looking to establish and build upon at this club.

"We have seen previously the effect that this can have and so felt we needed to act now in the best interests of the club.

"We hope our supporters and everyone associated with the club understand what we are trying to achieve and appreciate how difficult it is.

"First and foremost we are fans too and you have our absolute promise that we will never stop trying to get the whole club into the position we all feel it should be."

Assistant Glenn Eldridge will take charge for the rest of the season.
