Colchester United assistant manager Mark Kinsella has hailed Luke Garbutt’s contribution after the young defender returned to parent club Everton.

Garbutt has been recalled early from his loan spell by the Goodison Park club, following Bryan Oviedo’s double leg break against Stevenage.

The 20-year-old defender has been outstanding over the last four months for U’s during his loan spell from the Toffees.

Garbutt was on the bench for Everton's Merseyside derby with Liverpool, last night.
