Colchester United booked their place in the Essex Senior Cup semi-finals following a 3-2 win over Thurrock.
Goals from Macauley Bonne, Freddie Ladapo and Callum Harrison put a young U's side in command by the hour mark in their quarter-final, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
But the Ryman League outfit made a game of it and goals from Hazelwood and Wall set up a nervy finish.
However, the U's held on to progress to the last four, where they will host Conference South outfit Concord Rangers.
