Pitch inspection rules out Witham Town's hopes of getting some home action

First published in Sport by

The hopes of Witham Town to get a first home fixture since December 7 have been dashed by a waterlogged pitch at the Village Glass Stadium.

Tonight's scheduled Ryman League division one north fixture against AFC Sudbury was postponed because of a soggy playing surface following a lunchtime pitch inspection.

It means Witham's next game will now be their home game against Cheshunt on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
