A waterlogged pitch has defeated Braintree Town's hopes of playing their Skrill Premier game at Welling United today.
A referee carried out a pitch inspection at Welling this morning and quickly decided that, with standing water in both goalmouths and more rain forecast throughout the day, there would be no chance of the game going ahead.
The call-off follows another postponement for Braintree after their hopes of playing their New Year's Day game against Cambridge United were also defeated by a waterlogged pitch.
That league fixture against the U's has been rearranged to be played on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm) and is now the Iron's next scheduled game.
