Yearling is appointed FC Clacton manager
PHIL Yearling has tonight been appointed as the new manager of FC Clacton.
The club’s former joint-assistant boss replaces Ray Turner, who resigned last Friday afternoon.
Glenn Eldridge, who had also been assistant, will continue in the same role.
The appointment was confirmed after a meeting at the Thurlow Nunn League tonight.
Co-owners Stephen Andrews and David Ballard issued a statement in which they said they had been “really impressed” with Yearling, in the couple of months he has been at the Rush Green Bowl.
The statement continued: “Despite some great applications from elsewhere, this was a very easy decision to make.
“We’re really looking forward to continuing working with Phil and Glenn and hope this quick appointment, with minimum change, disruption or fuss, will allow the first team to push on and achieve the ambitions that the club, our players and supporters aspire towards.”
Speaking in today’s Clacton Gazette, Andrews had hinted that an appointment could be made before Saturday’s premier division trip to Felixstowe and Walton.
Don’t miss this week’s Clacton Gazette for an in-depth interview with former boss Turner, reflecting on his time at the Bowl, the timing of his decision to quit and his relationship with the Seasiders fans.
