MANAGER Ray Turner is excited about his fresh attacking options at FC CLACTON.

The club recently signed front man Ryan Taylor from Thurlow Nunn League rivals STANWAY ROVERS.

And another major boost is the fact 15-goal top-scorer Aaron Condon, who left for Maldon and Tiptree in October, has returned to the Rush Green Bowl.

Both played their part in an entertaining friendly against Halstead Town on Tuesday night, which had to be abandoned due to fog with the score still 0-0.

Of Condon’s surprise but welcome return, Turner said: “Aaron left for the right reasons, but as it hasn’t worked out I’ve told him I’ll happily take him back.

“He’s our top goal-scorer and hopefully he’ll continue in that vein and score more goals for us.

“It’s definitely a positive and strengthens us.”

Turner also has high hopes for Taylor, who is working hard to regain his fitness and got more than an hour under his belt against Halstead.

“Ryan hasn’t played a lot of football at this level for a long time but he got a good 65 minutes,” said Turner.

“He’s edging closer and closer.

“You can see what he’s got about him and that he’s got a bit of quality. “ Clacton are at home to Walsham-le-Willows today.

FA Vase heroes BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT entertain Mildenhall, while north Essex’s other two teams cross the border into Suffolk.

STANWAY ROVERS are at Hadleigh United, while WIVENHOE TOWN go to Woodbridge.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC, also still going strong in the Vase, are away to Kirkley & Pakefield.

In division one, BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES go to Ipswich Wanderers.
