Adrienne Strover and Gill Minns will represent Colchester Golf Club in next year’s ladies Daily Mail Foursomes.
They won their qualifier and their 31 points on the back nine was enough to knock Mandy Rix and Annie Johnston into second place, on countback.
A total of 64 ladies took part in the club stage of the national competition.
Meanwhile, Colchester GC have been reflecting on raising more than £13,000 for various charities over the past 12 months.
In his closing speech at the club’s AGM, past captain Barrie Minns talked about the captains’ charities this year having collected more than £6,000.
He singled out the fantastic work done by Jacqui Prince in raising more than £3,000 for the fund with her sponsored bicycle ride, which saw her ride from London to Edinburgh in just four days.
Colchester’s Pro Am, under the guidance of Hilary Persent, raised £5,500 for St Helena Hospice while the event held in memory of a long standing and popular Colchester GC member Barry Fitzgerald raised more than £1,500 for motor neurone disease.
Both of Colchester GC’s men’s teams reached the semi-finals of the major county competitions, while the seniors team won the County Seniors Team Championship.
And Ben David and George Whitbread won the County Foursomes competition.
