Purdy to challenge for European welterweight title
Colchester boxer Lee Purdy will challenge Leonard Bundu for the European welterweight title.
Purdy, 26, will return to the ring for the first time since his defeat against Devon Alexander in May when he faces the unbeaten Italian in London, in December.
Bundu first claimed the European welterweight title in November 2011 and has defended it four times since and the 38-year-old is ranked at number four in both the WBC and IBF.
Purdy’s promoter Eddie Hearn said: “This is the perfect fight for Lee and one that many welterweights around Europe have been looking to make."
