Lynn knows the pressure is on in Italy

Alex Lynn knows the pressure is on him and his Prema Powerteam racing team to deliver some strong results as the FIA European Formula 3 Championship reaches its penultimate round this weekend.
The championship heads to Italy to a circuit that gives the 20-year-old’s team a huge advantage and Lynn admits there will have to be an inquest afterwards if they do not dominate the weekend.
The Vallelunga circuit that will host the ninth round of the championship on Saturday and Sunday is Prema’s home track and with few of the other teams having had a chance to experience the technical twisting circuit prior to this week, the pressure is on Lynn and his team-mates.
He said: “The next round is at Vallelunga and that’s Prema’s home circuit.
“It gives us a massive advantage.
“Other teams have never been there before but we have used it plenty of times and if we aren’t dominant there then serious questions will need to be answered.”
Lynn, who is from Dunmow near Braintree, heads into the round sitting third in the overall standings following a hat-trick of podium finishes at the previous round at Zandvoort in the Netherlands two weeks ago.
While he admits his championship chances are slim now, Lynn is in pole position to secure the accolade of being the top rookie driver this year as he looks to further his career on the path to an eventual drive in Formula 1.
