Jabo encouraged by U's display against former club Orient
Jabo Ibehre believes Colchester United can take plenty of encouragement from their performance against League One leaders Leyton Orient.
But the powerful striker admits the U’s need to show more composure in front of goal if they are to make the most of their goalscoring opportunities.
Ibehre bagged his first league goal of the season for Colchester against former club Orient, where he spent more than a decade.
But it counted for little in the end, after strikes from David Mooney and Kevin Lisbie condemned the U’s to their first league defeat of the campaign.
Ibehre said: “We’re disappointed but we’ll take some encouragement from the fact that we were well in the game.
“It was a well-fought match and we felt we deserved a bit more from the game.
“We’d worked hard before the game and we knew how they play and how they’d got their goals, so it was a bitter pill to swallow.
“But we were against the pace-setters and I thought we matched ourselves quite well.
“We’re still creating chances and I think it will come with that little bit more composure around the box.
“There’s a great belief and although we lost, we’ll bounce back.”
