U's lose their unbeaten record after Orient defeat
Colchester United’s unbeaten record was ended this afternoon when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Leyton Orient.
Kevin Lisbie headed in the winner against his former club just after the hour mark to seal the O’s a fifth successive win and keep them top of League One.
Orient had taken the lead after 13 minutes through former U’s loanee David Mooney, who controlled well and struck home from close range after Dean Cox had crossed into the area.
But Jabo Ibehre equalised ten minutes before half-time for Colchester with a fine finish inside the area, after Craig Eastmond had burst into the area.
Lisbie headed Orient back in front and although Colchester pushed hard for an equaliser late on and might have had a penalty when Drey Wright appeared to be fouled by Scott Cuthbert in the area, the U’s were unable to salvage a point.
