Finals Day is a huge success
Twenty20 competition organiser Ben Stephens described finals day as “spectacular”.
And he said he is already looking forward to next year’s event, after a memorable cricket feast at Ashlyns Road.
“Frinton were great hosts on a day that had everything – big hitting, rapid bowling, spectacular fielding, great crowds and even the weather turned up,” said Stephens.
“Everyone kept saying what a great day it was, with a steel band playing, walk-on music, great food and drink.
“This really is the best way to watch club cricket played to its full potential.
“A spectacular day was had by all and we can’t wait for next year.”
Stephens, a director of sponsors PiriPiri, praised both Frinton and fellow finalists Coggeshall.
“Frinton were the best team, so congratulations to them on the way they played their cricket and also the way they hosted this great finals day,” he said.
“Coggeshall were blown away in the final by the rapid Adam Milne, who bowled one of the fastest spells I’ve seen in club cricket.
“However, Coggeshall battled back well and credit to them on the way they played right the way through the competition.”
